“THE GODHEAD"

This is a quick reference sheet for examining the Godhead: This outline will help explain to the Trinitarian believer the misconception of the Trinity. The question, who is God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? And who is (He) to you and me?

Apostolic doctrine: Article 2

We fully believe in the mystery of the Godhead. We believe that God has been pleased to manifest Himself (John 1:14) as a father the source of all life, as a son the channel and redeemer of all life, and as the Holy Ghost the revealer and energizer of all life.

The Father is the invisible God who is made visible in Jesus; and the Holy Ghost is the invisible counterpart of God. The Father is God in creation, the Son is God in redemption, and the Holy Ghost is God in inspiration. When one manifestation of the Godhead is patent - (can be seen), the other two are latent-can be seen through the one that is patent. (Philip said, “Lord shew us the Father, and is sufficeth us.” John 14:6-12). Jesus is human and divine! In other words he God-man. He is Mary’s son and Mary’s God; He is Creator and Creature; He is God manifested in the flesh; and He is our Eternal Father made visible-apart from whom, there is no God. We believe that at the final consummation of all things, (see Revelation 21:1-7) the one visible God will be our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 John 5:7, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (remembering the Son), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  Also (I John 5:8 w/ John 15:26).

The deity of Christ: The Emmanuel (meaning God with us).
Isaiah 7:14 (type), Matt 1:23-25, and John 1:14: God’s spirit made in the manner of sinful flesh in order to bring an un-tangible (the spiritual) to the tangible (the natural). God created Himself in a personal way in order to personalize himself with the creation. This did not exist in the Old Testament days, (see Hebrews chapter 5 and 7), and Hebrews 9:6-15 is the point.

There can only be “One Mighty God and One everlasting Father”, does that sound like Jesus? See Isaiah 9:6-7, 41:4 and Revelation 4:8, 22:13, John 1:1 and Genesis 1:1, John 1:2-5.

Jesus embodies all the elements of the Godhead (see Colossians 2:8-11) and (Hebrews 10:7) He (Jesus) comes in the volume of the book.

The full purpose for Jesus, who is God’s manifested in sinful flesh, coming into this world was, (I Corinthians 15:12-18, 22, 26, 45-50) and (see Galatians 4: 3-7 the adopted sons of God) and prophesied in Genesis 3:15. No more need for a High Priest to go in year by year offering the “blood sacrifices” for atonements Hebrews 10:1-14.

Titles in the Old Testament didn’t allow for a personal connection to the Almighty God and neither will it today. That’s why Matthew 28:19 can not be interpreted as the channel to God, he now has a name and that name is Jesus (see Acts 4:10-12) and (Phillipians 2:7-11) that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (also see John 13:13 and Romans 10:9; 14:9).

Jesus, whom is God, has been there from the beginning (See John 8:56-58, Colosians 1:17 and John 1:2) Jesus left to prepare a place for them that has chosen (Corinthians 15:51-58) to follow him (see John 14:1-4 and Revelations 21:1-7). If the truth be hidden it is hidden to the lost: (II Corinthians 4:3), for without Holiness no man will see God (Hebrews 12:14, Leviticus 11:44).

I have found over my 18 years of being an apostolic doctrine follower, one of the hardest thing for the Apostolic’s or (the Oneness believer) to do, is clearly explain to the hard or soft Trinitarian the Godhead. How God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, are one in the same.

Yes, Apostolic know without question in their heart that these three are one. But showing it clear to the Trinitarian with a King James Version Bible, they sometime will not give a good clear picture of it to the Trinity believer. This outline is set up for the Oneness Believer to clear lay it out, and show the oneness of GOD, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This also will build a greater confidence in the Oneness believer to defend their stance on this very issue too the world.
